Building a Gate from a Packing Crate

In this episode, we build a farm gate out of two old packing pallets/creates, used to transport doors to a building site. The pull them apart and remove the nails, ready to be recycled into a large gate as the entrance to our chicken run/orchard/food forest. Lets see if the chickens stay in.

Foraging for Apples

This week I go on my third annual, road side apple forage that will be turned into the 2014 Roadside Cider. This year has not been the best hunt (57kg in 2013), due to a dry summer, winds and birds. But will make some cider for the cellar. Hope that you enjoy this tripod free forage in the Australian countryside.

Running Water Downhill

This weekends project was to clean out some old pipework running down to our dam, so that later down the track, we could start running water uphill. In this episode, we are using a small pump and a barrel of water caught from a leaking gutter next to the house to clean out the pipes.

Last weekend when mowing the summer lawn of thebackyard, I decided that it was the perfect time to pull out the camera and take you on a quick tour, from the seat of the ride-on-mower.
Just a quick video, but I hope that you enjoy.

The Intro

Hi All,

Just testing out editing together an intro for the show... trying to use free online tools and creative commons audio as a starting point. Looking forward to any feedback and we will be hoping to launch the show in the next few weeks.

Cheers
